About the role

This exciting part-time Youth Intake Worker role at YOUTH OUTREACH is based in Arundel QLD 4214. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal part in providing vital support and services to young people seeking accommodation assistance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Conduct initial intake assessments to identify the needs and challenges faced by young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
  • Develop and implement individualised support plans to address the specific needs of each client
  • Liaise with relevant community organisations and stakeholders to coordinate placement into services
  • Maintain detailed case notes and records in line with organisational policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of intake and assessment processes
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

What we’re looking for

  • Relevant Degree qualification in Social Work, Youth Work or a related field. Candidates with Diploma and extensive experience will be considered.
  • Experience in conducting intake assessments and developing support plans for young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by young people from a Trauma Informed perspective
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across different organisations
  • Excellent written and administrative skills
  • Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people
