About the role
Join the Community Accommodation & Support Agency Inc team as a casual Support Worker based in Mackay, Queensland. In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them to live independently and participate actively in their community.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist clients with personal care, such as showering, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and running errands
- Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote clients’ wellbeing and community engagement
- Advocate for clients’ rights and needs, and liaise with families, carers, and other professionals
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery by providing feedback and participating in team meetings
What we’re looking for
- A passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in their lives
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in the aged care or disability support sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively in a team or independently
- A current driver’s licence and own transport with full comprehensive insurance
- A strong understanding of the NDIS and relevant legislation and policies or willingness to learn
