BASScare is a NFP which operates an integrated program of services including meals-on-wheels, residential care facilities, respite care, dementia specific services, retirement living, disability services, opportunity shop as well as planned activity groups at day centres, for older people who wish to remain active and engaged with their local communities. 

BASScare’s residential facility Samarinda Lodge, located in the leafy suburb of Ashburton, is currently seeking for talented Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for permanent positions and casual shifts. 

 

Salary and Benefits

  • $32-$34 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours of work 

  • AM and PM shifts available 
  • 7am – 11am shifts available Monday to Suay 

 

Who you are and the Job Role 

  • Provide individualised care and support to assist residents in accordance with their preferences, choices and needs as documented in their care plan. 
  • Assist with and support the activities of daily living 
  • Provide emotional & lifestyle support 
  • Provide care and services with dignity and respect (shower & toileting) 
  • Prepare and deliver meals and refreshments to residents including texture modified items. 
  • Responding promptly and appropriately to the needs of residents, representatives and colleagues. 

 

Essentials 

  • Certificate 3 – Individual Support 
  • You have a working knowledge of, and ensuring all care and services provided meet or exceed, the Standards in the Aged Care Act 1997 (Accreditation Standards) 
  • Person centred care – you understand the importance of assisting and supporting residents to maintain independence and dignity with respect to activities of daily living and lifestyle 
  • You have a passion for caring and supporting residents needs 
  • You are friendly and enjoy the interaction between residents, families, friends and other staff members
