Your role as a Parent Pathways Mentor
As a Parent Pathways Mentor, you will work alongside parents to set individual goals towards future employment or education. You will be successful in engaging parents, providing motivation, guidance and support assisting them on the pathway to achieving their goals. This is a part time position of between 24 and 32 hours per week. Hours can be negotiated to suit the successful applicant. The role is based in Wagga Wagga but will require travel to neighboring towns.
An example of a typical day or week may include:
- Assisting parents at their appointments with capacity building activities
- Helping parents achieve their goals and milestones towards employment
- Coaching parents with interview skills and confidence building to become job ready.
- Connecting with local community organisations who can support your participants with achieving their goals.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for engaging, resilient and computer literate people who can establish and maintain effective relationships with our parents, care givers, employers, service providers and our team. Ideally you will have strong communication skills, attention to detail and must follow our compliance guidelines.
Ideally you will have completed a Certificate IV or above level qualification in Employment Services, Community Services or similar industry (Or be working towards completion).
You must have a great work ethic, be passionate, fair and willing to support your parents and care givers to find outcomes that’s right for them.
A valid driver’s licence, current working with Children check, and Police check is a mandatory requirement for this position.
