We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our dedicated team and support individuals in a our remote community setting in the Gulf of Carpentaria. This unique role offers the chance to make a profound impact by providing high-quality care and empowering clients to live as independently as possible. You’ll fly in and out of the community on a rotating schedule, bringing your expertise and warmth to a community that relies on your care.

What You’ll Be Doing:

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of providing essential care and support to individuals with disabilities in a remote community setting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Personal Care: Assisting with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and health-related tasks, always with dignity and respect.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Supporting clients with medication, appointments, and liaising with healthcare professionals to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Daily Living Support: Helping with household tasks like meal preparation, cleaning, and organizing, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging clients to participate in social, recreational, and community activities that enhance their quality of life.
  • Goal Setting: Assisting clients in achieving personal goals and fostering independence through tailored support.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate care records and progress notes, ensuring transparency and continuity of care.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with other health professionals and community members to deliver holistic, person-centred care.
  • Fly-In/Fly-Out Schedule: You’ll work on a rotating FIFO roster, with the opportunity to immerse yourself in a close-knit community while providing vital support. Competitive above-award salary, plus meal allowance and travel expenses covered from the nearest city.
