We currently have roster lines available at our SIL services in Blacktown and Werrington.
The positions would be ideal for people with an interest to work with individuals who have a range of disabilities.
Duties may include all aspects of personal care including:
- Showering assistance
- Manual handling including hoist transfers – manual, electric / assisted standing
- Dressing assistance and hygiene needs
- Bowel and continence support
- Medication assistance
- Data entry and documentation
Other duties include:
- Light domestic support and household tasks
- Assistance or preparation of meals
- Support with assistive technology
- Detailed Reports
- Data Collection
- Medical and Allied health appointments
The successful candidate will have:
- Maximum availability and willingness to do sleep overs / active nights
- Demonstrated manual handling experience
- Demonstrated experience with personal care
- Experience in working with people with high medical needs and intellectual disabilities
- The ability to develop strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders
Mandatory Requirements include:
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent
- Current First Aid level 2 Certificate
- Current CPR (annual)
- National Police Children Check (less than 6 months old or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
- Current Australian Drivers License
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
Preferred but not essential:
- Manual handling training
- Administration of medication training
- Peg training
- Tracheostomy Training
- Industry experience will be highly regarded
