Seeking applicants capable of immediate start as a Disability Support Worker on a casual basis of up to 30-38 hours per week (VISA holding/international Student applicants with 24 hour per week work restrictions also accepted) on a rotation of weekday, afternoon and weekend shifts inclusive of public holiday shifts as well as the option of night shifts as required (remuneration per respective shifts in compliance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100] 2022).
The following requirements need to be satisfied in order to be considered for the position:
- Able to accommodate the above
- Own driver’s license and vehicle
- National Police Check
- CPR & First Aid certification (preferred)
- Relevant qualifications in disability support or nursing (either completed or currently acquiring).
- VISA Documentation Outlining Any Work Restrictions (if applicable)
Successful applicants will join a small team of carers providing disability support exclusively for a person with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at their personal residence (30 minutes drive from Ballarat CBD) as well as during medical appointments and social outings; the duties of which include:
- Providing physical assistance for all daily activities.
- Monitoring health of person being cared for.
- Attending to all general health & hygiene routines.
- Meal preparation and assistance.
- Performing basic household chores for person being cared for.
