About the role
Platinum Support Foundation is seeking compassionate and dedicated people to join our team in Port Macquarie, NSW. This is a casual position that will provide you with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting clients with their daily living activities, supporting their independence, and promoting their overall wellbeing.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing personal care assistance, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Helping clients with meal preparation, feeding, and medication management
- Facilitating recreational and social activities to improve clients’ quality of life
- Accompanying clients to appointments and outings, providing transportation as needed
- Documenting client progress and updates in accordance with organisational policies
- Advocating for clients’ rights and ensuring their safety and comfort
- Collaborating with the broader care team to implement and monitor client care plans
What we’re looking for
- Dedicated, compassionate and reliable individuals who can work a variety of shift types and lengths
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and their families
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following established protocols and procedures
- A current driver’s licence and the ability to provide your own reliable transport
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check
