About the role

Join Danecare  as a Disability Support Worker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those living with a disability. As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care and support to help clients maintain their independence, achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives. This is a flexible, community-based role with opportunities to work in various locations across Perth, WA.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assist clients with challenging behaviours
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and community access
  • Provide social, emotional, and recreational support to improve clients’ wellbeing and quality of life
  • Implement individualised support plans to help clients reach their goals
  • Advocate for clients’ rights and ensure a safe, inclusive environment
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Collaborate with the wider care team to deliver coordinated, holistic support

What we’re looking for

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification
  • Experience providing care and support to people with challenging behaviours due to mental health
  • Implementing Positive behaviour Support Plan
  • Mental Health First Aid certificate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference
  • Demonstrated commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of clients
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable)
