Apricus Disability Support Services Pty Ltd is a boutique family-operated company, located in Brisbane. We specialize in providing Sunshine & Happiness through & with everyday care to children with special needs. Presently we are seeking a full-time female carer to join our family in caring for two adorable children in their home.
Qualifications & experience
- Must have a minimum of 12 months of experience in disability support and or experience working with young children.
- Must have a Blue Card or NDIS clearance card and a valid open license
- Certificate 3 in individual or aged support (or willing to obtain)
- Must have current CPR & First Aid certificate
- Experience in manual handling
- Experience managing seizures (preferred)
- Experience with dysphagia (preferred)
- Must have covid vaccine and flu vaccine
- Must be physically fit
- Must be able to work weekends, varying of morning or afternoon shifts, and also do overnights.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Assist with all day-to-day aspects, including NG tube feeding
- Attend walks or swim with clients. Provide support at the hospital & other relevant appointments.
- Read children’s stories, dance & sing nursery rhymes
- Monitor seizure activities
- Prepare bottles & domestic assistance
- Maintain a positive and happy environment for clients
- Document activities and relay critical information to the client’s parent
- Assist with medication
- Able to work weekends, nights and have flexible weekday shifts.
