About the Role

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people with a disability? Yes? Then we want you to join our team.

We are currently looking for staff that can support a client in the Bacchus Marsh area. Our client lives with her supportive husband. She acquired a brain injury in 2019 and has limited cognitive ability. She requires assistance with mobility and all activities of daily living. Our client is passionate about music, interested in Star Wars and enjoys going to concerts. She also enjoys travelling, cooking, baking, and singing.

Your role as a support worker will be to aid with all aspects of daily living including personal care, hoisting, meals, assistance with household tasks and meaningful engagement within her home and community environments.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Cert IV in Disability or a relevant qualification and a minimum of 6mths experience in the sector

• NDIS Worker Screening Check

• Working with Children Check

• Current First Aid training

• Manual Handling training (or willing to obtain)

• International Police check (if applicable)

• Access to a car and driver’s licence

• A positive, reliable, empathetic approach to support people of all ages and backgrounds living with a disability

• COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate or Immunisation evidence required

• Demonstrated, proven experience working with individuals who may have complex support needs in different environments

• Proven can do, positive and willing attitude

• Clear and effective communication skills

• Friendly disposition and engaging manner

• Initiative and self-motivation

• Flexibility and availability is essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts
