About the vacancy
We have a vacancy for someone who can make things happen to join a team of fabulous people (and two friendly companion dogs) directly employed by a man with complex support needs to support him to live the best possible life in his own home and in the community.
This position is available for immediate start with one or two sleepovers per week with the possibility of one or two day shifts per week. This includes some weekend work (usually on alternate weekends)
What you’ll be doing
This a challenging but rewarding role that involves a range of duties including:
- Personal Care
- Seizure Support
- Household tasks (includes preparing meals)
- Support in the community
- Driving the supported person in his car
- Behaviour support
- Record keeping
- Assistance with pet care.
What we’re looking for
You will be a kind, patient, confident, experienced person who will be a good fit in a person-centred team and bring your own interests, enthusiasms and willingness to listen and learn into the mix. You’ll have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the team.
You may have previous experience in a similar disability support or community services role.
Essential Requirements:
- Certificate IV in disability or equivalent.
- Current First Aid Level 2 & up to date CPR
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
- NDIS Worker Screening check
- Clear National Police Certificate
