As a Community Housing Officer employed on a fulltime fixed-term until 30 June 2025, you will play a crucial role in assisting families and individuals in maintaining their housing and supporting those facing homelessness. Our services are focused on residents of the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg, and Kingaroy Regional Council areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals with complex needs to address homelessness or maintain their tenancy through a case management framework.
  • Conduct intake assessments for new clients.
  • Promote independent living skills and facilitate choice for clients.
  • Collect and report client data using an electronic database.
  • Liaise with community and government agencies, as well as real estate agencies, as part of your case management.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative guidelines and internal procedures.
  • Travel across the Fraser Coast, South and North Burnett, and Wide Bay regions may be required.

Skills and Experience: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to a person-centred approach in service provision.

Essential Requirements: 

  • Qualification in Community Services, Mental Health, Social Housing, or relevant experience in the community sector.
  • Experience in accommodation services or real estate is highly regarded.
  • Understanding of the Housing framework or the willingness to learn.
  • Current QLD Driver’s License.
  • A National Police Certificate.
  • A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
