Carrington is a not-for-profit centre of excellence for retirees, providing a focus on person-centered quality care and health services to consumers in our Independent Living, Residential Care and Community Care services. We are currently seeking qualified Care Service Employees to join our Residential Care team on a permanent part time and a temporary part-time basis. You will need to be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week. The Key to success within this position is the ability to be proactive, self-driven, and competent in managing time effectively, paired with the ability to be adaptive and flexible to the changing needs of our Consumers.
About the role
The Care Service Employee’s primary objective is to make a positive contribution in our Residents’ daily lives by providing high quality, holistic, person-centered care. The Care Service Employee is required to provide care with compassion, integrity, dignity and respect.
You will be a dedicated yet energetic team player, with a passion for improving the quality of life for those in your care. You will support a multidisciplinary team by assisting Residents with their daily living tasks, personal care and mobility. In doing this, you will build strong positive relationships with our Residents and their families – making your work extremely fulfilling and rewarding.
Position Requirements
- Successful completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in similar role
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, and as a team
- Caring and compassionate, as well as displaying initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic
- Effective time management and organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise workloads
- Sound knowledge of WHS and manual handling practices and maintaining accurate health care documentation, preferably in an aged care or health setting
- Ability to work varied hours and days – flexibility is key, due to nights and weekends being included
