JOB DESCRIPTION

At GCLA, we pride ourselves on providing wholistic person centred care to our customers.  We support members of our community in Gladstone, Tannum Sands, Mt Larcom, Boyne Valley and south to Agnes Water. 

We are excited to be hiring Part time Support Staff and have positions available in Aged Care, NDIS, Supported Independent Living and our Program Assistants.

As a part time Support Worker, you will be guaranteed hours and will be working in a dynamic and fulfilling environment assisting and participating in our customer’s lives.   

About the Role:

You will be out and about in the community, working with customers to achieve their health and wellbeing goals.  You will provide a range of services including:

  • Assisting customers with personal care needs
  • Assisting with meal preparation
  • Supporting with domestic cleaning
  • Supporting individuals to access the community they live in
  • Supporting individuals to live independently in supported accommodation

About Us

The GCLA is a local Gladstone organisation, started in 1977 by community members who wanted a meaningful community life for their sons and daughters with a disability. It has around 160 staff, casual and full-time, caring for up to 200 clients in the disability and aged-care sectors. 

The GCLA has a new board of directors and managing director who want the organisation to be known as a place where staff and their friends want to work, and where clients and their families are confident the organisation provides the best possible care.

About you:

You are interested in part time work, and you are a compassionate, reliable and dedicated person with a passion to make a difference to the lives of people you support. 

  • Certificate III in Individual Support / Aged Care/ Disability
  • Working with Children Card (Blue Card)
  • Working with Adults with Disability Card (Yellow Card) or NDIS Workers Screening Card/Check
  • Current Drivers’ Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate 
  • COVID 19 Vaccination (including Booster)Certificate
