About the Role

This role of the support worker is to provide exceptional service whilst supporting Interact Australia’s clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan. This includes;

  • Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the client’s level of independence. This may include community participation, skill building, vocational preparation, relationship building, and various other needs.
  • Respond to the client’s needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes
  • Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct

Who you are

  • Regular access to a reliable vehicle to assist with client transport (mileage reimbursed)
  • Reliable and have flexibility with shifts and rosters
  • Experience providing positive behaviour support 
  • WWVP NDIS endorsed
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation and Induction Modules
  • An understanding of NDIS and a commitment to its principles
  • Ability to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goals
  • You see disability support work not as a job, but a passion and commitment to providing high levels of support
  • Recent (less than 3 months old) police check
  • Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent); or prepared to undertake a similar qualification
  • The ability to work up to 38 hours weekly including weekends – please do not apply if you are seeking part-time or limited weekly hours. Due to the support needs of our clients, you must be available and willing to work a varied pattern of shifts across a 24/7 roster (including short shifts, night shifts, weekends and public holidays) to be considered for these roles.

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to participate in an Australian Federal Police check, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Screening and a Working with Children Check, prior to confirmation of appointment to the position.

The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
