MidCoast Assist is an ageing and disability service of MidCoast Council. We are a workplace designed for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of others. We are one of the largest registered providers of community aged care and NDIS services in the region. The role and person:

Are you someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of others? Come join MidCoast Assist and be part of a great team of Support Workers providing personalised service to assist and support people with a disability and special needs.

These positions sit within our MidCoast Assist Department of MidCoast Council and are responsible for delivering core support services to people with disability including individual activities, group activities and in and out of home respite including emergency respite in a variety of centre-based and community settings.

If you have…

  • A Certificate Certificate III qualifications in disability services / community services / individual support
    or related, preferably with AIN qualifications.
  • A clear motivation to work in Community Services.
  • Interest or previous experience in disability services and or community services.
  • A passion for disability support and working with people.
  • An understanding of and commitment to Work Health and Safety.
  • A current first aid certificate.
  • Proof of current, and up to date COVID-19 vaccinations approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration
  • A commitment to team work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • A keen interest in giving back to the community.

*The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks including: Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Criminal Record Check.

The package: $28.51 per hour, plus Superannuation.

You will be required to use your privately owned vehicle as part of this position, with business usage being reimbursed in line with the Local Government (State) Award.

Tenure: Casual

Location: The successful applicants will be required to work at one of our MidCoast Assist offices across Forster, Taree, Gloucester, Stroud, Bulahdelah, Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites.
