Hope and Care Community Service is a grass-root organization that is the product of nearly a decades worth of extensive experience in the disability assistance industry. HCCS exists to provide outstanding disability assistance, wherever it is needed. Qualifications & experience
- Certificate 3 in Individual supports or other relevant qualifications will be desirable but not essential
- Passion for learning and compassion towards people with disability
- Experience with challenging behaviours and complex trauma will be highly regarded
- Willing to learn sign languages and proactive approach
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
- Able to work with limited supervision and in a team
- Demonstrated safe work practices
- NDIS workers screening check is must prior to commencement
- Regular access to a reliable vehicle to assist with client transport (mileage reimbursed)
- Availability of minimum 2-3 shifts per week, including nights and sleep over shifts
- Open driver’s license and own transportation
- Understanding of PBSP and restrictive practices will be highly regarded
Tasks & responsibilities
- Provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the clients level of independent functioning including participation in the community
- Respond to the client’s needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.
- Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes and Incident reports
- Implement PBSP strategies when needed (training will be provided when needed)
- Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
