Are you an experienced and motivated NDIS Disability Support Worker located in the Hunter region?

Elsy is a fast growing and new name in Disability Support in the Hunter region. We’re an Australian disability organisation with a team of dedicated professionals with disability sector skills and experience from around the world.

We are committed to providing the best care in Disability Services – focused on quality support and education for people with a disability. 

We have grown to 10 beautiful new or newly refurbished properties in 8 months, we are about to open a new hub for day activities and we have an exciting hobby programme. 

We are seeking GREAT Support Workers to join our Elsy team in Newcastle.

About the Role: 

Elsy is looking for supportive and engaging people to join our new team who will be an integral part of the implementation of individualised supports within a Supported Independent Living setting.

About You:

  • Has direct experience supporting people with a disability, preferably within a Supported Accommodation setting
  • Builds rapport with people and is an excellent communicator

 

Essential Criteria: 

  • Working knowledge of the NDIS
  • Flexibility to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, this includes weekend work, sleepover and or active night shifts within a fortnightly roster.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Word and MS Outlook.
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively and establish rapport with participants.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the rights and interests of people with a disability
  • Drivers Licence

Desirable: 

  • Qualification in Community Services, Disability, or related field
  • 12 + months experience in a similar or relevant role
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates (must be obtained before starting)
  • Have or are willing to obtain a National Criminal Check, NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check
