We are currently looking for an experienced Casual Mental Health Support Worker with sector knowledge to join our team.
Job Overview
The Mental Health Support Worker provides daily care and support to members of Sunflower House and coordinates group activities. The Mental Health worker will work towards reducing the impact arising from mental illness, including the effects of stigma on individuals, families and the community, and increase understanding of and improve attitudes towards mental health and illness resulting in changed behaviour. The role is within the framework of recovery based support and is located both in a centre based environment and in the community.
Key Selection Criteria
- Qualifications relevant to mental health and/or knowledge and skills gained through work experience
- Knowledge and awareness of mental illness and the associated impact on individuals, carers and the community
- Smartphone with internet capabilities
- Current NSW Drivers License and willingness to use own vehicle
- Current Mental Health First Aid and First Aid/CPR qualifications or willingness to obtain
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain
