WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A LIFESTYLE ASSISTANT (Support Worker): Creating a good life with the individual you support!
Community Connection currently have positions available to work with Individuals with a disability, and their family. Your work with the individuals and their families is to ensure that they can live as independently as possible. You will support them to be independent in all aspects of daily life including both in their home and out in their community.
THE APPLICANT SUCCESS FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE DEPENDANT ON BEING AVAILABLE TO WORK THE FOLLOWING SHIFTS ACROSS THE FORTNIGHT – TOTAL OF 17HRS PER WEEK
Week 1
Tuesday – 10am – 1pm
Wednesday – 1pm – 4pm
Thursday – 1pm – 4pm
Friday 4pm – 8pm
Week 2
Tuesday – 10am – 1pm
Wednesday – 1pm – 4pm
Thursday – 1pm – 4pm
Friday 4pm – 8pm
Saturday 12 – 4pm
EXPECTATIONS OF A LIFESTYLE ASSISTANT:
- Good communication skills; both written and verbal
- Be physically fit
- An understanding of Autism
- Dynamic & Motivated Team player
- Self starter – shows initiative
- Reliable, proactive, and excellent work ethic
- Attend appointments
- Professional or lived experience supporting someone with a disability
- An understanding of the disability sector and person-centred support
- On-going support and paid training provided
- Must have own reliable vehicle – medium size sedan or larger
BENEFITS:
Community Connection also offers salary sacrificing which increases your take home pay and decreases the amount of tax paid. Training will be provided on the job, so experience is not essential!
REQUIREMENTS:
- Cert 3 in Individual Support or higher (NOT ESSENTIAL) – Training provided
- Full Covid-19 vaccination certificate
- Ability to use your own registered vehicle
- A current blue and NDIS Screening (Yellow Card) or ability to obtain
- A current drivers licence
- Current or First Aid and CPR Certificate or willing to obtain
