About the Role
We are seeking support workers who can encourage and engage a young man with a disability and assist him to grow and develop. You are part of a team, working with family members, clinicians and teachers to create a skilled and personal approach.
The ideal person for this position will have a gentle and compassionate personality, respect, understanding of individual needs and autonomy, as well as patience. You will also be able to fit into family routines and understand the demands of a busy family life.
You will be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to, the following:
- Assisting with personal care
- Maintaining a consistent and reliable schedule
- Providing support out in the community
- Helping with meal preparation
- Providing transport to medical appointments, school, and other activities
Essential Criteria
- Ability to provide active disability support and work in the home and community
- Ability to communicate with and develop rapport with a young man with disability
- Current NSW driver’s licence and own car
- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
- First Aid and CPR certificate
