Position Overview

We are recruiting for casual / permanent full time or part time Disability Support Worker positions in the Hervey Bay region. Ideal candidates must be available to work flexible shifts ranging from day, night, and weekend shifts

Responsibilities

  • Taking care of high needs clients
  • Provision of personal care and light domestic duties
  • Physically capable of hoisting and manual handling
  • Complete job tasks in accordance with participant plans in a timely manner
  • Write and maintain accurate written records and documentation

Selection Criteria

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or similar industry qualifications
  • Ability to apply understanding of ‘duty of care’ to delivering support services and escalate issues when needed
  • Suitable experience in behaviours of concern, ASD, PBSP and strategies and data recordings, restrictive practices and reporting of incidents and unauthorised reportable incidents, and recording of daily occurrences: social, medical and behavioural
  • A strong work ethic, a positive outlook and the ability to remain calm and professional while under pressure
  • Own reliable transport
  • Able to work flexible shifts (day, night, and weekends)
  • National Police Check, Yellow Card and Blue Card
