About the Role
This is a casual role with the opportunity to move to permanent employment.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of people living with a disability.
You will be energetic and have the ability to engage with participants in supporting them to achieve their goals. You will be helping the people you work with to build their skills, independence and capacity. You will also be dedicated in upholding the NDIS Code of Conduct.
This particular job is based in Doonside and will be supporting a 12-year-old male participant with severe autism and is non-verbal. Shifts are Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30PM to 7:30PM and Saturdays from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. These are just the starting hours and will likely increase for the suitable candidate.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assistance with self-care and personal hygiene.
- Going out to the nearby park for bike rides.
- Going out to aquatic centres for a swim and other venues for community access.
- Following care plans from practitioners.
- Transport
Essential requirements of the role:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Police Check
- Current Working With Children’s Check (WWCC) (or willing to apply)
- Current Drivers License and a reliable vehicle that is registered, comprehensively insured and maintained.
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Digital Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Experience with supporting people with autism.
