THE ROLE:

We currently require a team of Disability Support Workers, available for clients based in the Warwick Region. This role will include:

Building and maintaining trusting and meaningful working relationships with our clients, their circle of support and the community.

Assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating plans that enable our clients to set and achieve personal goals.

Facilitating community inclusion and participation and supporting our clients to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues, and services.

Encouraging positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively manage challenging behaviours.

Providing personal care where required and personalised support in accordance with the personal plan.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have a passion for working with people with disabilities and Mental Health with an understanding and commitment to a person-centered model of practice.

Previous experience in and knowledge of the disability services industry and an ability to work flexible hours, with a willingness to work within a 24/7 rotating roster, including active overnight shifts and weekend shifts.

You will also need to be willing to attend all training required to ensure you have the tools to support your participants.

You will also need to meet the following essential criteria for your application to progress:

Cert III Disability (or working towards), or experience in Disability Support

Completion of the NDIS worker Orientation Module

Minimum 2 years’ experience with:

complex behaviours/High needs essential (required)

Intellectual Impairment essential

Experience with Manual Handling

Current Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.

Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s Licence.

Current positive notice Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

NDIS Worker Screening Card (Yellow Card – Required)
