JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

We are currently seeking energetic support workers to use a person centred approach to ensure professional and individualised support for people with disabilities, based out of our Toowoomba and Rockhampton offices.

Available Roles:

  • Service Coordinator (Rockhampton)
  • Yard Maintenance (Toowoomba)
  • Support Workers (Toowoomba and Rockhampton)
  • Youth Workers (Rockhampton)
  • Cleaners (Toowoomba)

The role will involve:

  • Being responsible for supporting and assisting persons with a disability in their living and/or community environment,
  • Carry out designated tasks and activities aimed at meeting the participant’s goals,
  • Provide quality in home/community access and/or centre based care and support, incorporating integration and participation on social, recreational and educational activities,
  • Supporting a participant with manual handling, personal care including showering and domestic assistance,
  • Being flexible in the hours that you are willing to work as we support people 24 hours a day, every day. MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR WEEKENDS AND OVERNIGHTS

You should hold or be willing to obtain:

  • A Blue Card for working with children,
  • A positive suitability notice card or exemption card for working with people with disabilities,
  • A current Queensland driver’s license.
  • A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 or equivalent)
  • Certificate III in Disability or Community Services

The following traits will be highly considered:

  • Physical fitness to perform manual handling, domestic assistance and to participate in activities with participants,
  • Knowledge of Person Centered Practice,
  • Experience in the disability sector,
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively within a team,
  • Ability to prioritise workload and respond to an emergency.
