Community Support Worker – Aged Care Dementia and Aged Care Services

JOB DESCRIPTION

Dementia and Aged Care Services (DACS) is a new provider of Community Care Services in Central Coast NSW. We pride ourselves on delivering tailored care to enhance the quality of life for our clients and their families. Our ultimate goal is to support clients to remain at home and engaged in their local community.

Casual positions are on offer for Community Support Assistants to assist clients to enjoy fulfilling and engaged lives beyond a diagnosis or health conditions. The CSA supports the clients in every aspect to stay socially active, pursue hobbies and continue to lead valued lives. Additionally, with reablement and wellness approaches clients are supported with their personal care tasks and domestic activities. We aim to make real change to a person’s life and make growing old a positive experience for all Australian’s, through our healthy ageing initiatives.

The Role

We are looking for Community Support Assistants based within and around Central Coast NSW. We are looking for candidates with the confidence and ability to work autonomously and travel to client’s homes in and around their local community. You must have a willingness to support client services across Monday to Friday.

About You

  • Knowledge of personal and domestic cares, continence management, medication prompts, sound approach to challenging behaviours, manual handling and social support in an aged/disability or community care setting
  • Exceptional communication skills to support client engagement & independence
  • Ability to time manage your workload
  • Enthusiastic & passionate about providing a caring quality service for the elderly
  • Well presented with a positive attitude
  • Model team qualities such as respect, helpfulness, cooperation & support
  • Sound knowledge of people with dementia
  • Ability to provide written progress reports

Qualifications

  • Relevant Cert III minimum qualification in Aged/Disability or Community Care (or working towards)
  • Current National Police Check
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate (willingness to obtain)
  • Drivers Licence & own Car
  • Comprehensive Insurance
  • Smart Phone
  • COVID vaccinations including booster
