We are looking for dedicated Community Support Workers to join our caring and dynamic team and provide high quality in home support services to our valued customers.

Across Australia Just Better Care provides in-home aged care and disability support services, supporting people to live independently. For over 15 years, we have been supporting older people, and people living with disability, to live independently in their own homes and stay connected to their local community.

The role:

This role involves travelling between customer’s homes and assisting them with daily living and lifestyle requirements by providing person-centred care and support.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance

Social support/transportation for social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments

Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation

Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment including: standing or walking frames, wheelchairs, manual or electric hoists, sliding sheets or moving boards, hearing aids and other physical aids

Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs

Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress

Provide updates on customer progress following each service

Participating in staff meetings and attending training as required

About you:

Caring, compassionate & friendly

Good interpersonal skills & written/verbal communication skills

Reliable & dependable

Ability to build rapport & good working relationships

Comfortable using technology (i.e. mobile app) for accessing rosters & recording customer notes/feedback

What you will need:

Current CPR / First Aid Certificate

Current Federal Police Check & Working with Children Check

Current NDIS Workers Screening Check

Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Reliable, registered and insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance is preferred)

Smartphone with internet access

Covid 19 vaccination

Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services (preferred) or willingness to work towards same. Non-certified candidates will be considered.
