About the Role:

We are looking for experienced Client Coaches (Support Workers) to support our clients in Whyalla. You will work with both children and adults with varying disability and needs. In Whyalla we provide in home support, respite services, and community support. You will provide exceptional care and enhance their life skills. Orana will provide you with the training and development to support the success of your role. 

About You: 

Our ideal candidates must be flexible, adaptable, and available to work across a 24 hour, 7-day weekly casual roster, including active and passive nights. 

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a fast learner with sound computer skills and the ability to utilise various software programs. 

You will be required to work independently and as part of a team and will receive continuous support and guidance from your Service Manager.

Core Responsibilities:  

  • Assist clients with personal care and daily living duties.
  • Transport clients to and from appointments as required.
  • Assist clients to work towards their personal goals.
  • Support clients with their financial needs and documentation.
  • Transport and support clients with community activities of their choice.
  • Administer medication and assist with medical appointments.
  • Document daily case notes and report all incidents that occur.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager, Clients, and Medical Professionals.
  • Undertake regular mandatory training courses as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with people with disability would be ideal.
  • Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate III in Aged Care.
  • Hold a current certification in First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling.
  • Hold a current NDIS Worker Check or DHS Disability screening.
  • Hold a current National Police Clearance.
  • A current driver’s licence and your own vehicle.
  • Ability to use a tablet and various computer programs.
  • Possess a high level or care and empathy for people with disability.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • An effective team player and able to work autonomously.
  • Work collaboratively with family and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide flexibility and availability to work across a 7-day roster including passive nights.Please note: All applicants must have received all mandated doses by SA Health of the Covid-19 vaccinations, including a Booster and must be able to provide a My Gov certificate for evidence of this to sight.
