Due to steady and ongoing demand for our services we are seeking Personal Carers to join our growing team in providing support to our clients to live independently in their own home environment. You could be assisting in day to day activities, providing transport or participating in community activities, no one day is the same!
We don’t just employ PCA’s or “Support Workers”, we employ CARERS.

For the right applicants, the potential of regular ongoing hours of work available anywhere from 20 hours per week up to full time. The hours vary across all the days of a week. The role is flexible to your circumstances. Pay rates are in-line with experience and competitive to the market.
What’s involved?
Carers provide personal care, in home respite, general housecleaning, meal preparation and transport to help the person to go shopping, attend appointments, or participate in sports and leisure activities. Carers drive from home to home in their local area to provide this care. In aged care people often complain of always having to rush. Finally a job where you have enough time to have a chat and still get the job done right.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you must live on the Mornington Peninsula. Preference is given to people living on the Southern part of the Mornington Peninsula, from Safety Beach across to Tyabb and all suburbs and towns further down the Peninsula.
Applicants need to demonstrate the following;
- a kind and caring nature
- flexible and adaptable to the needs people whose support needs vary
- willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends or any combination of these hours.
- active with average level of physical fitness
- well presented, keen and reliable
- vaccinated against commutable illnesses, specifically Covid-19 and current flu strains
- willing to complete and pass an NDIS Worker Screening Check
- current car licence and own a reliable vehicle
- experience helping older people or children/adults with a disability
- Trainee applicants must be willing to complete a Traineeship in Individual Support.
- Qualified applicants must have a qualification in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Support or equivalent.
How does a traineeship work?
Traineeships in Certificate III Individual Support are available for unqualified applicants with relevant skills, experience and personal characteristics as we expand our existing trainee program. Trainees are able to work whilst they complete a national qualification with After-Care’s traineeship program, in partnership with a local Registered Training Organisation.
As a Trainee you will start work doing house cleaning, meal preparation and shopping assistance. As your studies and experience grow, you will then be ready to assist clients to attend appointments, provide respite and all aspects of personal care such as shower assistance, dressing and personal hygiene.
