Roar Agency Support Worker (casual) roles located in the Redland Bay area – immediate start.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT IS MANDATORY.
Demonstrated prior experience working with Severe and Complex Mental Illnesses, resulting from extreme trauma. (D.I.D, Complex PTSD) Along with co-morbid Mental Health conditions.
Experience with Psychotic Illnesses -knowledge around supporting the Client safely in-home, as well as out in the community.
Knowledge of, or (preferably) experience with, working with Adult Clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and associated Conditions.
Prior experience working from a ‘Trauma Informed Care’ Model of support.
SUPPORTS REQUIRED
- Daily supports start 11am – 5pm
- Potential for sleepover (Friday night)
- Friday Support may differ according to hospital appointment
What we require from support team members
*Mature Aged. (30’s and above)
*Non Smoker.
*Not scared of birds. (Companion birds)
*Patient, relaxed, easy going personality. (Calm and mature in a Crisis)
*Definite past experience in One-On-One Support Work.
*Definite past experience working One-To-One with Adults.
Potential Support Worker must:
*Be Participant Orientated- working around Participant’s needs, and goals.
*Have good Boundaries and Personal/Work Ethics- working ethically with Participants.
*Be respectful of privacy, confidentiality of Participant.
*Be experienced in supporting Participant with Activities of Daily Living, as well as working towards Participant’s NDIS Goals.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
- Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current Blue Card (working with children)
- Current Driver’s License
- Current Comprehensive Car Insurance
- NDIS Worker Screening Approval
- Mental Health First Aid (favourable)
