Individual Support Worker Traineeship ACA – Home Care Workforce Support

Become a qualified and skilled In-Home Support Worker specifically working with elderly people.

About the traineeship

  • Earn while you learn – gain a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) whilst being paid a trainee wage for on and off the job training
  • Full-time and part-time Traineeship available (min. of 15 hours per week)
  • Positions available across all Adelaide metropolitan and regional areas

General duties you will learn and perform throughout your Traineeship include:

  • Providing person-centred support and independence with clients
  • Personal care, nutrition and food intake, social activities, medical and social appointments, lifestyle and leisure activities, and basic health care 
  • In-Home Support Workers will support the clients with their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development
  • Provide companionship and support throughout day-to-day activities
  • Work alongside a team of healthcare professionals, family, friends, and carers

Eligibility

  • Proof of Covid 19 Vaccination (full completion) and 2022 Influenza
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent Australian resident
  • Have a current South Australia Driver’s licence
  • Have access to a reliable and roadworthy vehicle 
  • Be able to commit to the pre-employment Program for two weeks
  • Possess a kind and compassionate demeanour, excellent teamwork skills and can confidently communicate with people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds (ability to speak another language would be advantageous)
