Marvel Care Services is an NDIS registered service provider offering services nationally. By joining our team you will be able to support our participants within the following settings: Supported Independent Living, Short/Medium Term Accommodation and Individual Supports.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE EXPECTED TO:

  • Be available to work on a rotating roster including active and sleepover shifts.
  • Be available to accept shifts on short notice or shifts that are of short duration.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have an exceptional level of reliability and communication.
  • Has a keen eye for detail and confident with documentation and data collection – we can most definitely support you to learn our processes.
  • Have their own car, comprehensive car insurance and a driver’s licence – there are shifts where you will be required to transport a participant either to access the community or to attend appointments.
  • Demonstrated ability for clear written and verbal communication – if you are multi-lingual this is a bonus!
  • Build rapport and have meaningful engagement with our participants and other members of the team.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

While the below experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, you must be able to:

  • Work with participants with various diagnoses (i.e. Dementia, Acquired Brain Injuries, Intellectual Disability, Epilepsy, Huntington’s Disease, Mental Health, Amputees, etc).
  • Support people and administer medication.
  • Support participants that display behaviours of concern.
  • Use disability specific equipment (i.e. hoists).
  • Support a participant with high physical support needs (i.e. supported transfers, personal care, stoma care, mobility, wound care, etc).
  • Willing to adhere to recommendations and routines/plans from Medical and Allied Health practitioners.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders
  • Complete household and domestic tasks (i.e. cleaning, shopping, meal preparation, laundry, etc)
  • Complete personal care tasks (i.e. daily personal hygiene routines, dental hygiene, bowel and bladder care, etc)

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Proof (including Booster Vaccination).
  • Working With Children’s Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
  • Police check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
  • First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
  • Driver’s Licence and Comprehensively Insured Car (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate of completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to obtain).
  • Certificate of completion: COVID-19 Infection Control Training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Certificate III in Disability (or equivalent).

Remuneration is in accordance with the SCHADS Award
