JOB DESCRIPTION

My Support My Way is a registered NDIS service provider in South Australia and Victoria. MSMW provides support to individuals with disabilities using a holistic model of care, in addition to tailoring supports specific to the individual.

We are looking for applicants who are interested in supporting participants in a supported accommodation setting, as well as out in the community.

As a disability support worker, you will:

  • Help and guide clients to develop independent daily living skills
  • Have a willingness to support people who have complex and challenging needs
  • Assist with meal preparation with clients
  • Accompany clients to access the community, including attending social events
  • Provide general care and emotional support to clients
  • Daily documentation (case notes, medication charts, behaviour charts)
  • Medication administration
  • Implement a person-centered approach
  • Coordinate with team members
  • Have previous experience in supporting persons with disability (including intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, dementia and psychosocial disabilities)

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support, Disability Care, or relevant field
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Victorian Working with Children’s Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening
  • Full Australian Drivers License
  • The Right to Work in Australia
  • Medication Competency Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
