JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role.

Life With Choice Care is seeking for experienced Disability Support Workers for casual position in Ballarat Victoria.

This role is perfect for someone with a person-centered approach, who is energetic and excited to make a difference in people’s lives.

The role involves:

  • Domestic duties such as meal preparation, cleaning and vacuuming
  • Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance)
  • Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility.
  • Assistance with community access and recreational activities
  • Transportation and supporting social engagement.
  • Implementing Behavior Support Plans (BSP’s)
  • Supporting young adult to achieve their individual goals in line with their person-centered support plan.

The successful applicant will be:

  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Able to work under pressure without any supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written),time management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to empower participants to meet their needs and goal of independence

Eligibility criteria:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in supporting people with disabilities or age care.
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • Cert IV or relevant qualification in Disability
  • Must be willing to provide or obtain a Victorian Working with Children’s Check.
  • Have a current or be willing to obtain a First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID004) and CPR (HLTAID001) certificate.
