Disability Support Worker – Evening and Weekend Fairhaven Support Services

JOB DESCRIPTION

Fairhaven Support Services, an exciting and innovative company based in Ipswich and Toowoomba requires disability support workers for community work in Ipswich. Duties include providing domestic assistance, personal care in clients’ homes and assistance with accessing and participating in the community.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

We are looking for people who: –

Are willing to work flexibly across a 14-day roster, including sleepovers, weekends & public holidays.

Experience working within the disability field is highly desirable but not essential.

Can work autonomously as well as within a team environment.

Have excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Requirements prior to commencement of the position are: –

Experience in Supported Independent Living  advantageous 

A current driver’s license and reliable, roadworthy vehicle, full comprehensive insurance is a must.

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Positive Notice Criminal History Check – Yellow Card or ability to obtain one

A Police check will be carried out before commencement of role.

Must have completed, or currently be studying Certificate III in a relevant area: – Disability, Mental Health and /or Community Services (Please note: – if you are currently studying Certificate III in a relevant area, it is a condition of employment that you complete this certification within 12 months of commencing employment with Fairhaven Support Services).
