About us

Are you a passionate and caring person looking to enter the disability sector as a Disability Support Worker? Already an experienced support worker? We have management training opportunities available for the right candidate. We are looking for energetic, fun and engaging support workers to join our team to support a wide range of clients in the Wollongong and Shellharbour regions. 20 to 38 hours available depending on availability.

We have shifts available in both community and residential settings. We have a number of young male clients in a residential setting who would specifically benefit from having more male role models in their life as well as mature minded people who are dedicated to creating a welcoming and enjoyable home environment.

Our residential shifts cover 24 hours a day, and range from 4-8 hours in length. The overnight portion of the shift (10pm – 6am) is active (no sleeping).

Qualifications & experience

Professional or lived experience supporting someone with a disability
An understanding of the disability sector and person-centered support
Excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach
Flexible availability & a long-term commitment to the organisation

Tasks & responsibilities

Assistance with community access and recreational activities
Personal care (showering, toileting, and hygiene assistance)
Manual handling and the use of wheelchairs & hoists
Transportation and social engagement
Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
Behavioural and Mental Health Support
Following Behaviour Management Plans
Completing documentation and case notes.
