Disability Support Worker

  • Bedford Day Options & Community Access and Lifestyle program
  • Casual roles | Flexible hours over 7 days a week
  • Multiple metropolitan locations

Provide 1:1 or 1:3 support to our clients across two programs helping to develop their skills including relationship building and social awareness.

About the Role

Due to the growth of our Day Options and Community Access and Lifestyle program there are casual roles available across multiple locations with flexible shifts offered across 7 days a week. This is an exciting and varied role with a focus on supporting our clients to achieve their goals in a fun and encouraging environment. Activities our clients enjoy include going to the movies, pub lunch Fridays, skill and relationship development, swimming, cooking, arts and crafts, and volunteering at the RSPCA just to name a few.
Other responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 or 1:3 support
  • Support clients to achieve their NDIS goals
  • Completing progress reports and reporting incidents
  • Working with clients to promote individual choice and control
  • Provide transport to clients as required
  • Maintain a duty of care for clients, other staff, and yourself

About You

You will be an experienced and qualified support worker with knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, Code of Conduct and Quality and Safeguarding Framework. You will have a genuine passion for working with people with disability to achieve their goals, and if you have a hobby, skill, or talent you could have an opportunity to share that with our clients.
Other skills and qualifications include:

  • Minimum Cert III in Disability (or equivalent)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • An ability to do with and not for

For this role the following documents must be provided prior to a formal offer of employment with Bedford Phoenix Incorporated.

  • An acceptable clearance to work in the disability sector (DHS / DCSI / NDIS)
  • A National Police Clearance (no older than six months)
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia
  • Evidence of full vaccination with a TGA-approved COVID-19 vaccine or an acceptable exemption*
