Disability Support Worker

Join a collaborative, and supportive team of 13 to provide support to clients participating in activities such as woodworking, going to the movies, and other social outings.

About the Role  
 
This casual position is required to work across the Day Options and Community Access and Lifestyle program in Wallaroo. Supporting clients on a 1:1 and 1:3 basis to participate in activities such as woodworking, upholstering, pottery, and technology classes, as well as going on social outings such as bowling, going to the movies and trips to local cafes.
 
Other key responsibilities include

  • Provide physical support, including activities of daily living
  • Support clients to achieve their individual NDIS goals
  • Provide transport to clients, as required
  • Teach skills such as woodworking, upholstery, and cooking
  • Complete detailed reports and case notes using a computer or personal device

About You
 
You will be an experienced and qualified disability support worker who is passionate about supporting people with disability to live independently and achieve their goals. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to teach others the skills you have learned through your own hobbies and interests.
 
Essential criteria include

  • Minimum Cert III in Individual Support – Disability or equivalent
  • Disability sector clearance (DHS, DCSI or NDIS)
  • National police clearance (no older than 6 months)
  • Senior first aid certificate
  • Australian driver’s licence
