About Challenge
Challenge Disability Services provide Supported Independent Living programs (also known as group homes). We provide modern 3-5 bedroom homes with Support Workers on hand 24/7 for NDIS participants with Supported Independent Living (SIL) funding.
We support participants with a range of low, moderate, high to complex needs with a Disability diagnosis, from all backgrounds, in single and multiple programs.
We identify individual needs and tailor programs to suit. Every program is aimed at developing and maximizing each individual’s potential as a person and as a member of the community.
The role
The role of a Disability Support Worker in Accommodation Services is to provide support to our clients with a disability who require assistance with personal care and daily tasks; with a strong focus on developing the skills of each individual to live as autonomously as possible within a shared living and one on one environment. Residents are supported each morning and afternoon, overnight and on weekends by experienced and qualified staff.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Australian Drivers Licence
- First Aid certificate or the willingness to get one within the on boarding stage.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Flexibility to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, this includes weekend work, sleepover and or active night shifts within a fortnightly roster.
- Competent with Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Word and MS Outlook.
- Covid 19 Vaccination
Desirable Criteria
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent.
- Demonstrated understanding in the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes.at
