Located in Kyneton, our Client Support Enhancing Centre (CSEC) provides a variety of dedicated spaces, including a social lounge, movement room, and versatile multi-purpose area. Designed to enrich our personalized 1:1 support services, the CSEC is accessible to all Able U clients during their sessions with our support workers.
During holiday periods, we offer structured programs tailored for under 18s, featuring activities such as Arts/Crafts, Gardening Club, Lego Club, Cooking sessions, and Teen Social Groups. Additionally, we organize adult social lunches like movies/pizza days, and during warmer months, we arrange outdoor events such as park sausage sizzles. These initiatives are just a glimpse into the diverse range of activities we provide to enhance the well-being and engagement of our clients.
The Position
As we are a smaller provider that we look for specific characteristic in our support workers that will fit within our values and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
This position is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, patient, creative, energetic, and above all, adept at engaging in and sustaining conversations.
- Engaging with clients of all ages both in-home and in the community.
- Supporting under 18s at our CSEC during after-school and holiday programs.
- Providing in-home Domestic Assistance.
- Flexible hours, including weekends, across the Macedon Ranges and surrounding areas.
You will be provided with:
- A supportive team that works to together to provide the best outcomes for our clients. We are more like a big family.

- Initial training and induction on organizational policies, procedures, and industry compliance protocols
- Ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Staff supplies such as PPE, First Aid supplies, etc.
- Recognition and adaptation to support worker requirements and preferences.
- SCHADS award rates and allowances

Successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting individuals with various aspects of daily life, promoting community integration, and facilitating participation in activities that enhance quality of life. Responsibilities will encompass administering medications, providing personal care with dignity and respect, preparing nutritious meals, assisting with household chores, and aiding in shopping tasks. Additionally, duties will involve offering support to promote overall health and well-being, ensuring individuals are empowered to live independently and participate fully in their community.
While varying regular shifts will be available each week, this position would suit a candidate who can initially offer 2-3 shifts per week, with a progressive increase in availability.
Skills & experience
- Ideally possess Certificate III (or higher) in a relevant industry qualification; however, candidates with life experience in disability care or a strong desire to gain industry skills will be considered.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Working with Children Check or willing to obtain AND
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable, fully insured vehicle
